Bollinger Bands provide several useful signals, including confirmation
of trend and an indication of volatility.

John Bollinger has written that, "Trading bands are one of the most
powerful concepts available to the technically based investor, but
they do not, as is commonly believed, give absolute buy and sell
signals based on price touching the bands. What they do answer is the
perennial question of whether prices are high or low on a relative
basis." He goes on to say, "It is the action of prices near the edges
of the envelope that we are particularly interested in."

BBands often look attractive and seem to work and indeed with a little
luck, you will get positive results .. for a while, but the net result
is zero over millions of entries and exits. I've backtested these and
many other common TA indicators using every formation and all yield a
net zero gain over millions of attempts.

John Bollinger's net worth is roundoff error for Warren Buffett... who
uses the seat-of-the-pants investing method.

lol .. and of which all of Bollinger's "profits" were made from
selling his bogus indicators, and not from profits made by using them.
