well stated? nah. he said 'theory was just a wild guess' or
whatever... a bogus notion being pushed by a tiny fraction of the
ruthlessly unethical christian right these days on the web... because
they think ( and keep stating) that evolution is
a 'theory' and is bogus since it conflicts with 'creation'... a
position virtually all scientists and a large percentage of christians
dont support.
this agressive push to discredit science, all on these 'theory/ laws
of physics' issues has taken nasty turns on Youtube where sites and
the individuals putting them have been targeted and trashed, fake
abuse claims posted etc... one of the more common ploys is to pose as
a scientist or grad student...and have sock puppets follow up with
support.
Amazing since no one has a provable clue about ultimate source and
founding of life, and 'science' does not even address the issue, other
than to posit a range of possibilities... including many scientists
who hold the view that some sort of supreme being or 'god' must be
involved... many of whom see Genesis as an accurate if poetic
description.. especially considering the lack of scientific awarness
of the day...
it is my view that humanity, from our limited view point... looking
from our own human constraints ... are not able to fathom such a
creation or its genesis...
we are after all a product of whatever happened... at effect of a
larger range of causes...
the biblical description provides only a description... some,
including myself, think an accurate description... a macrocosmic
description..... but taken literally in todays language an obvious
mistake... fronted by various special interests.
Searching 'zeitgeist' on youtube.com provides some interesting
history, a 36 part series. It is this series apparently promting such
an aggressive response from some agressive elements of the 'loving'
christian right.
