The banks themselves have NO idea what their total exposure is yet......
The Bank of Montreal(BMO) took a huge hit a while back on oil an trading
scheme......brought in new top management to clean house.....thought they
got rid of all the dirt and yet last week they had to reserve $12B for a
couple SIVs which somehow got overlooked......

SIV's can be two tiers of risk with possible leverage of 10-15 to 1. These
are high risk..high reward. When they go south..they go fast. They hide
well in the books too. Great for hiding in fact. You can even dress them up
and play pretend value too. Kind of like Uncle Kenny...... until he got
charged...
