there is even talk about Bush being given the heave-ho before
the actual election?

I think we can take a bird cage, label it "Democrat" and it will win the
presidency.

I seriously doubt if the GOP will be a formidible poltical force for at least
the next ten years, thanks to the Bush legacy. But of course, no political
party has a better record for shooting itself in the foot than the Democrats so
feel free to label my forecast as a definite "maybe."

The polls I have seen they are running close with Obama slightly
ahead.

I'm not so sure about that. No problem if it was a popular vote. We
have that freakin' electoral college thing to contend with. I've
added up the states that I think each will win and it looks pretty
close. Gotta watch out for more Rep. shenanigans if it is close.

Poli-tics are all a bunch of hacks. Spend (waste) our money poorly
and are constantly trying to take each other down. Obama is already
shootin' himself in the foot with the windfall profit tax thing on the
oil companies. Last thing we need is an EXTRA tax on something that
is bound to go higher in price. Well, I will probably vote for him
anywise and hope it doesn't pass. Chances are that it won't. Too
many people are invested in oil companies.

True. I suspect that any non-coastal state that Clinton won will end up
being a cliffhanger, even if it doesn't appear so as of today.

Nah, let him concentrate on buildin' those wind farms and converting
vehicles to nat. gas. Last thing he needs is to be bogged down in
governmental muck and mire.
