What do you say when the subject of imminent recession comes up, and
someone asks "what can I do to prepare, or to protect myself?"

Any advice?

In a true recession you have a big chance of losing your job.

Build Cash. About 6 mos-1 year living expenses in the bank.

Pay off all credit as fast as you can because of this.
