This NG needs a moderator.

On other NGs like talk.origins, they have installed a moderator who has
simply banned all posts from gmail.

Gmail's spam has made it necessary for NGs to have moderators now.

"They" is the Big-8 Management Board. I doubt that there is enough
support for them to approve a change for this group to be moderated.

What this group needed was for people to ignore the trolls a very long time
ago. I fear it's become too late, now. It's a shame. We used to have
spirited discussions in here.

Spam can be filtered. The problem is that if you filter the spam and the
trolls, there is precious little left.

Shut off the lights when you leave, will you?
