Looking to replace Kobren FundsNetInsight.

NoLoad Fund X has been suggested and is interesting, but
there is a lot of trading.

I'm also looking at Chartist Mutual Fund Letter.

Thoughts appreciated.

Hi,

I did just check it out and it looks quite good. However,
Sheldon Jacobs is no longer running it and the YTD and 1 yr
returns are still good - but there is a new editor.

What do you think of Moneyletter? Returns seem quite good.

I also looked at Motley Fool Champion Funds and discovered
it hasn't done badly - but not nearly as good as Moneyletter.

I've been comparing these looking at the Hulbert Interactive
(one month free trial) :-)

Thanks again for your thoughts.

As you will see if you consult Hulbert,
The Chartist pursues an aggressive high-beta strategy with wide
fluctuations in the value of its model portfolios. Thus while it has
excellent raw performance, it has worse risk-adjusted performance.
Worse than NoLoad Fund*X, the last time I checked.

As I recall, you were the one who wanted a newsletter "like Kobren
FundsNet Insight," which is now defunct. Kobren used to pride himself
on a smooth ride, with model portfolios with predictable beta
coefficients. As I told you once before, few other newsletters offer
that style with superior performance. The Chartist is not one of them.

And I don't recall Hulbert rating MoneyLetter highly. MoneyLetter was
originally started by money fund guru Donoghue in the 1970s. He
switched into mutual funds when money fund yields dropped. But he's no
expert on the stock market, believe me. His early attempts at devising
a trading system were laughably poor; I could do a better job with
Metastock. Not recommended.
